About

Welcome to the Open Door at Family Ties class at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.  Here you can learn a little about us, listen to podcasts of our lessons, review our curriculum, and link to other important resources on the internet.

Randy Street and Chris Gabriel were early members of the original Family Ties class in the early 2000s and launched Open Door in 2010 out of a shared love of teaching God’s Truth from the Bible.  Both have had the good fortune of teaching hundreds of classes around PRUMC and other churches.  In addition, they have co-facilitated multiple Disciple Bible Study programs over the years.  With this combined experience, they seek to offer Gospel-centric, Scripturally-based lessons that inspire the class to achieve a deeper, more abiding relationship with Jesus Christ and one another.

Open Door merged with Family Ties in the fall of 2024, bringing these two great classes together. The combined class is open to anybody who wants to grow their faith in the fellowship of other believers.  Our lessons focus on God and our relationship with him and one another, but we do not target any particular age or stage of life.  Young, old, single, married - it doesn’t matter.

Each lesson stands on its own, which means you will never have to worry about missing a class.  While we often follow a theme, you can come and go as you choose.  Whether you want to participate every week, once a month, or once in a blue moon, you are always welcome.

Our door is always open!
