We focus on Matthew 5:17-20.
Jesus again presents a study in contrasts. He shows us “lame” human standards vs. “impossible”
divine standards. Rather than dooming us
to not being able to live up to God’s expectations, however, the message is one
of radical Grace. God’s loves us no
matter what and, through Christ, offers us passage from ignorance and
inadequacy to love, mercy, and redemption.
